Siti first became aware of BMSG while working on an undergraduate paper on social movements in Singapore. Conversations with breastfeeding advocates then, left a lasting positive impression and she was glad that there was such informed and passionate support available for mothers who would like to breastfeed.
Siti went on to breastfeed her children and wanted to help other mothers along in their journey. She has been volunteering as a trained BMSG counsellor since 2017 and has also started training more volunteers to become counsellors. She enjoys sharing tips and strategies to mothers who would like to continue breastfeeding even after going back to work, being a full-time working mother herself.
As a Board Member, she would like to continue the good work of the organization in providing informed mother to mother support. She is also studying towards becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
