Khatim is a 28-year-old mother thankful to be working in a voluntary welfare organisation (VWO) on a flexi-arrangement. She has a three-year-old son.
She stayed at home during her son’s first two years of life. With encouragement from her husband and like-minded friends, her breastfeeding journey has been mostly smooth-sailing!
Despite occasional hiccups such as mastitis and having to cope with discouraging comments, Khatim and her son are still a breastfeeding pair. Breastfeeding has become second nature to mother and child. Khatim had never thought that they’d continue breastfeeding well into her son’s toddler years!
In Khatim’s words, ‘My passion for breastfeeding has enlightened and empowered me in more ways than I could count. I wish to help and support other mothers in their breastfeeding journeys so that they too would feel the same way.’
